She was born the daughter of Moritz Waldvogel of Switzerland and Elizabeth Steiner of San Francisco on May 3, 1905 in San Francisco, CA. She met and married Anthony Bajada on August 8, 1925 in St. Paul of the Ship Wreck Church in San Francisco. Her grandfather, Joseph Steiner, came from Switzerland around the horn and settled in San Francisco; this was at a time when there were no railroads across the country. He owned and operated the first German speaking hotel named the "Helvetsia". He married Catherine Diethelm of Minnesota, the daughter of Carol and Elizabeth Diethelm, who came to America from Switzerland in 1850. Survivors include her daughter, Evelyn "Lynn" McCarthy, Scottsdale, AZ; son, George A. Bajada, San Jose, CA; sisters, Rose Nanzer, Frances Waldvogel & Pauline Attard; brother, Frank Waldvogel, six grandchildren, Daniel Mainini, Janet Manger, John Mainini, Diane Bajada, Carole Bajada & Cynthia Chasan; 15 great grandchildren, Alexandria, Kerry, Eric, Jason, Justin, Lauren, Kelly, John, Jennifer, Derick, Alisha, Michelle, Tamara, Jamie & Jacob and one great great grandson, Christian.
