A beer salesman and weekend biker was found shot to death yesterday along with his wife and two young daughters in what police said appeared to be a murder- suicide in their home near Bernal Heights. Charlie was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Joseph Galea, and sister, Elizabeth Amos (Tom). He is survived by his uncle, Sammy Catania, nieces and a nephew. Charlie will be missed by many wonderful friends. Special thanks to his caregivers, Norman and Jieni Mitimeti, and to Heartland Hospice. Charlie was an owner and breeder of thoroughbred horses and came from a family rich in California racing history. He served in the military prior to owning The Cocktail Club on San Mateo Avenue in San Bruno. After his retirement, Charlie built his home and ranch in Santa Rosa. Charlie would be the first to tell you that he lived a wonderful life. Charles James Galea and Charles J Galea were possibly the same person.

Entered into God's care December 22, 2009 in Santa Rosa at the age of 61. He has been a Sonoma County resident for the past 30 years. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Lauren; beloved father to Charles, James (Katie) & Amy (Shawn); brother, Paul; sister, Maria (Roger); father-in-law, Babe; brother-in-law, Gary; sister-in-law, Janice; and numerous nieces & nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, January, 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, 7983 Covert Lane, Sebastopol.
