Mike passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving wife and family after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his adoring wife of 23 years, Natalie (Muscat) Mihalek, chidren from a previous marriage, Janet Drew (Bill), Paul Mihalek (Jean), and Terri Cogorno (Paul), grandchildren Jeff and Matt Cogorno and Valerie and Jack Mihalek, in-laws Joe and Rose Ann Muscat, and many nieces and nephews.
He was bcrn in SF to Mike and Claire (Vidovich) Mihalek. Brother tc Stephen Mihalek (deceased). He attended St. An- thonycs grammar school, Archbishop Riordan High, and SF State. He played basketball and baseball at Riordan High and

Archbishop Riordan High, and SF State. He played basketball and baseball at Riordan High and was inducted into Riordancs Hall of Fame for Baseball as a member of the class of 1954. Also, he played semi-pro baseball in SF.
Mike loved playing, watching, coaching and umpiring baseball and softball. After baseball, Mike played 13 years of fast pitch softball, he coached 18 years at San Mateo American Little League. He umpired 34 years at college, high school, and local softball levels and recently was awarded the Umpirets National Indicator Fraternity.
After retiring from 7up Bottling of SF and Nestle USA in 2000, he and Natalie enjoyed traveling to Carmel, Hawaii, and Europe He, also, loved playing golf and going to Giants baseball games especially with his grandchildren.
